A Basque company this year sent more than a tonne of vehicle components to Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems – the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) largest weapons supplier.
After another Ditch report, yesterday the president and two executives at another Basque company, Sidenor, appeared before Spain’s national criminal court as part of an investigation into their alleged complicity in genocide.
The Ditch exclusively reported in June this year that Sidenor was supplying steel to an Elbit Systems subsidiary. Now its executives are under investigation.
One year after the International Criminal Court said plausible risk of genocide
Juaristi Boring and Milling Machines sent the shipment a year after the International Criminal Court ruled there was a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza.
In January this year the Azkoitia-based company shipped 1,075 kilogrammes of wheel bearings to the Elbit Systems land warfare division in Yokneam Illit, Israel.
The company says it offers “outstanding results for the machining of defence industry components”, according to its website.
Air Europa flight UX1301 from Madrid to Tel Aviv transported the shipment on 29 January, 2025, according to records obtained by The Ditch.
Elbit Systems supplies 80 percent of the weapons and military equipment for the IDF land forces, according to a recent report by the BDS Movement.
Another Basque firm, AMC Mecanocaucho, was forced to end exports to Israel after The Ditch reported it had supplied components to Elbit Systems in Israel.
Juaristi Boring and Milling Machines declined to comment.
