Fine Gael politician allegedly paid sex workers using stolen money

A Fine Gael politician allegedly paid for sex workers' services and threw parties with money he’s accused of stealing from a government-funded organisation.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is to stand trial over the allegations.

The Ditch has learnt that the Fine Gael man – who's close to the party hierarchy – is alleged to have used the organisation's funds to pay for sex workers' services, parties and designer clothes.

He allegedly misappropriated tens of thousands of euro from a taxpayer-funded organisation in Leinster. It is understood that details of his spending became known after a lengthy garda investigation.
