Jeffrey Epstein invited Bill Gates to his island and told him – the month after Donald Trump was first elected US president – the “new administration people” were visiting.
The email came just six days before Epstein boasted to a friend about hanging with “the Trump boys” in Palm Beach on Christmas Day.
“Come to visit the island. New adminstration (sic) people visiting,” said Epstein in an email to Bill Gates on 20 December, 2016.
Later that day in separate correspondence, Epstein’s assistant Lesley Groff said her boss was in Palm Beach but would be on his island, Little Saint James, shortly.
Asked for an address to send Epstein a package, Groff asked, “How quickly will the shipment arrive?”
“He is in PB now for xmas and then going to his island I believe. If you can find out how long the shipment will take we can pinpoint the address to send to,” she wrote.
Senior Trump associates have come under fire recently for their links to Epstein, as well as their previous denials, after the release of the latest tranche of US Department of Justice files.
US commerce secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed this week he visited Epstein's island in 2012 – contradicting previous claims that he had cut ties with the convicted sex offender. Trump himself has sought to downplay his relationship with Epstein.
The Ditch reported yesterday that it gained access to Jeffrey Epstein’s FedEx account – with records showing it was used for shipments long after his death.
