Painted silhouettes and “kill markings” which appeared last month on the F-15E aircraft, suggest they launched a combined 35 missiles during Operation Epic Fury in Iran – which killed 1,700 Iranian civilians.

The United States Air Force combat jets known as Jax and Smoke landed at the county Clare airport on Saturday afternoon after one declared an emergency over the Atlantic.

The Ditch reported in March that taoiseach Micheál Martin lied to journalists when he said armed US soldiers – deployed as part of the USA’s illegal war on Iran – weren’t landing at Shannon Airport.

Foreign affairs minister Helen McEntee confirmed last month that government will continue to allow US military aircraft to land at Shannon Airport.
